Child Development Corps Training Coalition

A new initiative to expand training opportunities for ECE providers on: child development, the socio-emotional health of children, business & management and health & safety.

Quality Enhancement Programs

Enhanced Mentor Program (EMP):

Supports quality child care by providing
  1. Free, on-site consultation on quality care practices to any licensed child care program in Alameda County.
  2. Professional development support to members of the California Early Childhood Mentor Program.

Family Child Care Fair:

The Family Child Care Fair is an annual event that emphasizes quality in family child care homes by providing free training opportunities and materials for the environment.
Outreach for the Family Child Care Fair will begin in August 2008.

Quality Improvement Initiative (QII)

The QII provides resources for a Quality Improvement Specialist to work collaboratively with ECE providers to improve program quality. QII Participants are eligible for a Quality Improvement Grant. The maximum grant amount is $2,500 for small family child care, $5,000 for large family child care and $10,000 for centers.

Professional Growth Advisor Leadership Program

Provides advanced training, support and incentives to Professional Growth Advisors (PGAs) in Alameda County.

Training Enhancement Program (TEP)

Builds the capacity and enhances training skills of ECE trainers in Alameda County. TEP brings together a diverse group, with a focus on bilingual trainers, to participate in a year-long training series.

Inclusion Service Coordinators

Located at R&Rs, Inclusion Coordinators address the barriers faced by children with special needs and their families and work to increase the capacity of child care professionals to provide inclusive services. Contact your local R&R for more information.

Partners In Collaboration (PIC)

An innovative cross-disciplinary project that partners ECE Mentors with ECE Mental health Consultants.
